Background

JCI Bauhinia is the first all-women chapter under JCI Hong Kong to use Chinese as its official language. It was founded in September 1979 under the late founding president 何淑賢, JP. Members are aged from 18 to 40.

This year’s theme, 「紫愛同心 活力創新」, is a hope that members will hold together, keep an open and inventive mind on the foundation their predecessors built, and, through training and activities, become leaders who can keep up with the times.

2026 「同心圓」 series: 「智創引力場」

The 「同心圓」 series discusses a different issue facing women each year. The eleventh edition, themed 「智創引力場」, focuses on technology-led career guidance for Hong Kong young people.

After the March 「品牌創業分享會」, which encouraged young people to explore building a brand, the chapter will continue with AI workshops and a Greater Bay Area technology study tour.

The project teaches practical, up-to-date skills, narrows the information gap, and strengthens young people’s competitiveness and inventive thinking at work. The aim is to help them become people with a real advantage and build the career they want.

「守護同行」 responds to a growing social fact: many older people, late in life, are also carers, supporting their peers or still older relatives. 「以老護老」 is increasingly common. The strain and the real needs of people who keep caring through their silver years are often hidden in a busy day, unseen and unheard.

2026 「同心圓」 series: 「智創引力場」

The project starts from 「認識照顧者」. Through 「照顧者養生·護航關懷分享會」 and 「照顧者多多關照服務日」, it gives carers a day when they themselves are looked after. It opens a gentle but serious public conversation, draws attention to elder care, strengthens mutual help in families, and builds a more inclusive community.

The 2026 「亞洲青少年交流計劃」 is the twelfth edition. It takes young people aged 13 to 15 out of Hong Kong to Penang, Malaysia, to meet young people from more than ten Asian countries and regions. The exchange trains cross-cultural understanding and a global outlook, and from that experience builds gratitude, independent learning and problem-solving, so that they can tell Hong Kong’s story and become tomorrow’s leaders.

Events Overview

The community project 「守護同行」 answers the reality of older people caring for older people.

Events Overview

Centred on 「認識照顧者」, it works so that the needs of elder carers are seen and understood.

It pays particular attention to the physical and mental health of carers aged 60 or above.

Events Overview

Talks, workshops and resource matching offer care knowledge, ease isolation and build confidence.

Events Overview

Partner organisations include Christian Family Service Centre, Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres, Kowloon Women’s Organisations Federation, and the Jockey Club 656 Carer Support Project.

Two activities have already been held. On 18 April a 「以己及人分享會」 used wellness exercises and resource matching to relieve pressure and strengthen carers. On 1 August 「多多關照服務日」 combined music from participants in the chapter’s 「亞洲青少年交流計劃」 with expert care advice. The two events drew nearly 200 carers and volunteers.

Events Overview

In late August the chapter will release a 「護老者心聲分享平台」, so that carers’ own stories reach the public on film.

The 2026 「亞洲青少年交流計劃」 took 12 students to Penang, Malaysia, in mid-July. They met about 150 young people from Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines, learned about one another’s cultures, and studied science, technology and sustainable development together. They came home with friendships, independence and teamwork, ready to serve as tomorrow’s leaders.
