JCI City Lady
Background
JCI City Lady, founded in 2007, is one of the 21 chapters of JCI Hong Kong, China, and an all-women chapter whose official language is Chinese. Around the four areas of opportunity it runs projects through which members learn by organising, and it joins chapter, national and community activities so that both the member and the chapter widen their reach. It practises 「服務社會，訓練自己」, and welcomes women with warmth and drive.
The 2026 theme is 「熒曜聚光」. 「熒」 is the small light each member already has, waiting for its moment. 「曜」 is the brightness of a leader, which shows others the way and is passed on. 「聚」 is old and new members standing together. 「光」, through this chapter, is each woman becoming more confidently herself, and together they light 「城市之光」. The belief is that everyone carries a light; once it is seen and lit, it can light a much wider world. The 2026 president is Rainbow Yeung (楊彩紅).
Secretariat: simpler administration, better preparation before meetings, shorter meetings, and communication quick enough to hit the target.
Publication: a varied platform for members to write about life and work, and regular surveys so that publication follows what members actually ask for.
Treasury: cloud accounting, so that year-end work and paper records shrink, receipts and payments stay accurate, and the books can be read from anywhere.
Fund-raising: a “Bling Bling” DIY jewellery workshop, using sterling silver, pearls and crystals, so that members reconnect and the public can make a piece, meet the chapter and join. Pieces include floral designs, evening earrings and bracelets of different styles.
Information technology: keep the website and social media current, so members see chapter news and the public sees the projects.
Records and recognition: record participation and pair it with a clear recognition scheme, so that members join more projects and feel they belong.
International: let members experience JCI together and strengthen exchange abroad.
Community: the parent-child carnival 「六色繽Fun•童樂融融」, with a workshop by an experienced occupational therapist, 「六色積木‧居家訓練全攻略」, for children aged 6 to 12 with different needs, in a setting without labels or pressure.
Business: a platform where members and past awardees exchange, encouraging young women to build their own work, recognising women who contribute now, and keeping a link with past awardees. Stories from 15 years of awardees will become a collection of women’s own accounts. 「2026全港時尚專業女性選舉」, themed 「琥珀如美，聚煥城光」, honours women who, like amber, have been toughened by time and shine more clearly.
Public relations: joint activities with other chapters, and themed gatherings that use the members’ own networks to connect old members, new members and people who want to know the chapter.
Membership: more channels and a referral scheme, so that more women join and grow through the four areas. Besides birthday celebrations at the monthly fellowship gathering, the chapter will listen, and will run activities members actually look forward to.
Leadership: training designed for the skill a member needs next.
Youth: help non-Chinese-speaking secondary students in Hong Kong settle in, through language workshops, multicultural activities and career planning.

Opening ceremony of 「2026全港時尚專業女性選舉」
「2026全港時尚專業女性選舉」 is the chapter’s flagship for the sixteenth year.
Each year a judging panel selects no more than ten women who bring together style, a profession and a contribution to society.
The programme presents women as capable, independent and graceful, and asks them to encourage other women and to make a positive change.
It also opens more ways for women in Hong Kong to serve, so that more people who need help can benefit.
The opening ceremony was held on Saturday 28 March at the Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. More than 80 guests came, including chief judge Mr George Lung Chee-ming, SBS, MH, JP; Mr 黃俊碩 of 「黃龍德會計師事務所有限公司」; ambassador 黃美棋; past awardees; supporting organisations; and members of the national organisation and the chapters. Together they marked the start of nominations.
Sharing guests included 2012 awardee 余嫿, 2021 awardee 辛巧琪, 2023 awardee 馮德怡 and 2024 awardee 江嘉敏. More than 40 media outlets reported the election. Nominations close on 29 May.
「六色繽紛童樂融融」 family carnival
On 12 July the flagship community carnival 「六色繽紛童樂融融」 was held at Yuen Long Leisure and Cultural Building. Legislative Council Member the Honourable Nixie Lam opened the day, spoke with families, and underlined her support for the development of children with special needs and for an inclusive community.
Works by the artist 何珀熙, who paints with diverse abilities, were on show, so that visitors could see the creativity and particular gifts of children and young people with special needs. Organisations that support special educational needs offered on-the-spot advice and resources, and began a community support network.
Five zones gave visitors a way in. A learning zone introduced, in plain language, what different special needs involve.
An inclusion zone used games to build acceptance and friendship.
An experience zone let people feel challenges of ordinary life.
A difficulty zone used scenarios to show what a day can be like for a child with special needs and for a parent.
A parents’ resource station offered practical care skills, education information and community contacts.
Families had a full weekend, and, more importantly, the public could see both the needs and the strengths of these children. The chapter thanks the guest of honour, the exhibitors, the volunteers and every family, and will keep working for a community that understands, accepts and cares.
